"I rarely get sick."
"I haven't been sick in 2 years."
"Sheesh...I can't remember the last time I needed a real-live, stay-in-bed, actual sick day."
It was coming, and I knew it. Not only did I get sick once, I've been sick over and over again for the past 3 weeks. Flu? Yup. Cold? Yup. And finally, terrible headache and sinus pressure from hell? Check and check.
The thing is, it was always going to be shitty, being sick. But I think I've actually made it worse by having thoughts like, "Um, what the hell? I NEVER GET SICK and now I'm PISSED!" I've realized that I need to come down from my ivory tower and admit that, yes, I can occasionally succumb to sickness (just like everyone else) and I just need to get the hell and gone over it.
I suppose if I'd never said those things above that I would've been healthy until my dying day. Thanks Murphy, wherever you are.
